GC’s Got Talent: Combining Crafts, Community, Charity

We’re excited to announce the new format for our annual GC’s Got Talent event! While changing times have facilitated the move to an online format, we’re glad to still host an amazing online auction.

Since 2016, we’ve been celebrating the talents of our fellow genetic counselors while raising funds for GSF, the only non-profit dedicated to genetic counseling services. Traditionally, this live event has been held in conjunction with the National Society of Genetic Counselors Annual Education Conference. Past events have featured dancing, comedy, artwork, and more.

“GC’s Got Talent has been such a special part of my time with GSF,” shares Julie Simon, GC, who has been on the Auction Committee since 2018. “The amount of talent this community has is incredible, and the generosity of our donors is always inspiring.”

This year, the online format will allow bidders to browse items ahead of time, and perhaps plan a little holiday shopping. The talents are already arriving, such as handmade soaps, cute totes, home decor (DNA mobile, anyone?), and more. The online auction will run November 12 – 20, 2020. We’re accepting donation items now!

Donations will directly support GSF’s charity care program, allowing patients to seek the genetic counseling care they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare, without having to worry about the financial burden.
